Connect International at the Council of Europe’s  13rd Comittie on AI Meeting

A representative of Connect International who is a member of Adisory council on Youth participated in the 13th Plenary Meeting of the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence (CAI), held in Strasbourg on 14–15 May 2025.

At the meeting the CI representative took the floor to share key developments in the youth sector and highlight the urgent need for youth inclusion in AI governance. During the intervention, it was emphasized that young people are already actively engaging with AI – 87% use AI tools in their work, yet many lack access to ethical guidelines, policy frameworks, or training. At the same time, 93% have expressed interest in joining a community of practice focused on AI in youth work. Connect International also contributed to the examination of the HUDERIA Model, a key framework for assessing AI’s impact on human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. This engagement marks another step in ensuring that youth are not just passive users of technology, but active participants in its governance. As AI continues to shape our societies, Connect International stands committed to advancing policies where young people are recognized as rights-holders and agents of change.
